![]() JUNE 2025 NEWS & EVENTS |
THANK YOU to everyone who came out to protest at No Kings day. 70,000 protesters in Seattle is an amazing number, but 800 in our neighboring town of Enumclaw is almost as incredible. The vibe was amazing: so many people excited to be there with their signs, and so many honks of support! Events like this give us strength to fight amidst the constant terrible national news. (To all the trans folks reeling from Wednesday’s SCOTUS decision regarding gender-affirming care, I am so, so sorry.) Now our job is to turn that energy into regular action. If you’re looking for ways to get more involved, we have suggestions! Come to one of our biweekly coffee meetups! Find strength, hope, and community with like-minded folks. This coming Saturday we’re meeting at Post and Pour in Tehaleh, 10am. I hope to see you there.Sign up to help us at a fair booth! Chill in the shade, chat with interested folks, and share information. Help others get plugged in, too! Our first event of the season is the Buckley Log Show, June 28-29, and we still need lots of help. Sign up here, or see our full list of fairs here.Come to our regular meeting on Wednesday, June 25 at 7pm, and hear from Lydia Zepeda of the League of Women Voters Pierce County. Lydia is going to tell us about the work the league is doing and needs help with, including voter registration and reporting on local public meetings, like city council and school board. You can attend our meeting in person or on Zoom. All info for how to attend is here. Don’t give up hope, friends. We have work to do. Sarah Edwards, Chair ![]() |

Exploring New Meeting Locations! The 31st LD is still considering a new location for our in-person monthly meetings. The ideal location would be available to us on the 4th Wednesday of every month between 6pm and 9pm; be easily accessible for residents of our sprawling district; have heat, A/C, and good, stable wi-fi internet connection for our hybrid meetings; and enough space to comfortably seat up to 100 attendees. Our budget for rental of meeting space is reasonable and if anyone has any suggestions or a space that they’d like to offer, please reply to this newsletter or email our Chair, Sarah Edwards! |
