Meeting Minutes – November 29, 2017

31st L.D. Democrats General Meeting
November 29th, 2017, 7pm
Edgewood Fire Station 

Meeting was called to order at 7pm by Chair Brian Gunn followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. M/S/C to approve agenda, as amended.

Chair:

General election recap:  District is trending in the right direction, but clearly more work needs to be done!  Need recruitment of more PCO’s, increase outreach and voter turnout.  He is also planning to have regular office time and be available for PCO development & recruitment.

Pierce Co. Dems:

Kirby said there is a Woman’s State Committee vacancy.  Still working to address PDC penalties and will be planning fund raisers throughout 2018.

King Co. Dems:

Sarah: Tina Podlodowsky said DNC donated to the 45th LD race. East Wash. made gains in state party special election. Encouraged joining “Rise & Organize.” 3 resolutions considered: Code of Conduct, Impeach Trump and Against Nuclear Stockpiling.

Program:

Holiday Party in lieu of Business meeting: December 15th at the Buckley Grange; Will have a food/clothing donation site present.  Set up begins at 3, see Ingrid.  Food assignments posted on website.

Old Business:

Consensus was to keep Business Meeting schedule as it is.  Daniel has volunteered to act as alternate Secretary, as needed.

New Business:

Kirby: State Committee meets in January, in case we want to offer any resolutions.

Lucy, Allison, Dan and Brian volunteered to draft our Candidate Questionnaire for 2018.

Good & Welfare:

Brian expressed his gratitude for the work put out this last year and appreciation for our growth and success in 2017.  Reminded the body that there was a volunteer appreciation event at the office on Saturday, December 9th from 10-Noon, where he and Michelle Rylands will receive (well deserved) recognition by the state party for their hard work this past year.
