31st L.D. Democrats Executive Board
August 2nd, 2017, 7 pm

Call to Order at 7:00pm by Chair Brian Gunn. Roll was called and there was a quorum of 12 members present.
Guests: None
Brian: Reviewed Primary election results. Improvements were evident, but clearly more work to do!
Campaign Fund Disbursement: Marc has dropped out of committee. No plan submitted to date. Discussed value and timing of campaign contributions and forecast for donation revenue.
M/S/C as amended to give Rylands campaign $3000 and Lowry campaign $1500.
M/S/C To draft message to both campaigns urging development of broad issues message statement to be included with our contribution. Suggested message point should get to Allison by 8/6.
Picnic/Social: Set for Aug. 14th in lieu of regular meeting. “Back in Session Social” at Bonney Lake Grange. Website will have food assignments. We’ll supply buns & meat. Facebook event page is posted for sign ups. “Indivisibles” and “Resist” groups will also be invited. Brian will take care of Banquet permit.
Fund Raising: Discussed various ideas. No consensus reached. Will have membership and donation cards available at picnic.
M/S/C to authorize NTE $200 for an I.P address, so that our donation stream is not at risk.
Communications: Allison will work with Brian to compose a conceptual analysis of the Primary results to be included in the newsletter and website. SAVE THE DATE: 10/6/17 for Pierce County Dem Fundraiser.
Fairs: Auburn Days booth still has openings. Also need volunteers for L.D. 45th event on */12 and Bonney Lake Days on 8/19.
Canvassing: George talked about the need for more canvassing volunteers and the need to reach out to Bernie supporters and reengage with them.
Good of the Order: Allison wanted to encourage stories of good works and experiences from our members to share.
